Embracing Silence & Clearing Energy on Mauni Amavasya

On this sacred morning of Mauni Amavasya, we stepped into stillness with our blindfold yoga practice, surrendering to the quiet and tuning inwards.Amavasya, the dark moon phase, is a powerful time for letting go, releasing negativity, and cleansing our inner world. It invites us to pause, reflect, and reset—not just physically, but energetically and spiritually.

The Power of Observing Silence (Mauna Sadhana)

Silence is not just the absence of words; it is the presence of awareness. By choosing silence, we quiet the mind, deepen self-awareness, and create space for healing. Today, allow yourself to :

  • Speak less, listen more – Let words be intentional and meaningful.
  • Reduce distractions – Limit social media, excessive conversation, or external noise.
  • Practice silent meditation – Observe your breath, your emotions, and the stillness within.
  • Walk in nature – Let the sounds of the earth guide you into mindfulness.
Silence allows us to observe rather than react, detach rather than engage, and reflect rather than judge. It is in stillness that we hear the whispers of our soul.

Clearing Personal Energy on Amavasya

Just as we declutter our homes, our inner world also needs cleansing. Amavasya is an ideal time to release emotional burdens and reset our energy :

  • Salt Water Bath – Absorbs and removes stagnant energy.
  • Deep Breathing (Pranayama) – Helps detoxify and reset the nervous system.
  • Burning Sage or Incense – Clears negative vibrations from your space.
  • Journaling & Emotional Release – Write down what no longer serves you and let it go symbolically.
  • Fasting or Eating Light – Aligns the body with purification.
  • Mantra Meditation – Chanting Om or a sacred mantra raises vibrations and brings clarity.

Wondering what you do after clearing the energies today….?

Setting Intentions for Renewal

Once we empty ourselves of the old, we create space for the new. Set a simple intention—peace, clarity, strength, or detachment—and carry it with you.

Amavasya teaches us that darkness is not an end, but a space where transformation begins. By embracing silence and cleansing our energy, we align ourselves with renewal, wisdom, and deep inner peace.

May you move through today with stillness, awareness, and lightness of being.
